- Cajun Rubbed Pork:
- 3 lbs boneless pork shoulder (pork butt)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 3 tbsp DASH Salt-Free Cajun Seasoning
- 2 cup chicken broth
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- For Serving:
- 12 slider buns
- 1 cup prepared coleslaw or pickles (optional topping)
Tender, slow-cooked pork shoulder rubbed with DASH Salt-Free Cajun Seasoning, shredded and piled onto soft slider buns. This recipe uses a simple Cajun meat rub technique that works across multiple proteins.
Directions
- Rub the pork. Pat pork shoulder dry. Rub with oil, then coat evenly with DASH Salt-Free Cajun Seasoning.
- Build the slow cooker. Place sliced onion and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Set the pork on top. Pour chicken broth around the pork.
- Cook low and slow. Cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the pork is very tender and shreds easily.
- Shred and finish. Remove pork, shred with forks, then return to the slow cooker. Toss with a few spoonfuls of the cooking juices.
- Build the sliders. Pile warm Cajun pulled pork onto slider buns. Top with coleslaw or pickles if desired.
