  • 3 lbs boneless pork shoulder (pork butt)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp DASH Salt-Free Cajun Seasoning
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • For Serving:
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 cup prepared coleslaw or pickles (optional topping)

Tender, slow-cooked pork shoulder rubbed with DASH Salt-Free Cajun Seasoning, shredded and piled onto soft slider buns. This recipe uses a simple Cajun meat rub technique that works across multiple proteins.

Directions

  1. Rub the pork. Pat pork shoulder dry. Rub with oil, then coat evenly with DASH Salt-Free Cajun Seasoning.
  2. Build the slow cooker. Place sliced onion and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Set the pork on top. Pour chicken broth around the pork.
  3. Cook low and slow. Cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the pork is very tender and shreds easily.
  4. Shred and finish. Remove pork, shred with forks, then return to the slow cooker. Toss with a few spoonfuls of the cooking juices.
  5. Build the sliders. Pile warm Cajun pulled pork onto slider buns. Top with coleslaw or pickles if desired.
