- 1 5-lb beef chuck roast

- 2 each onions, sliced ½ inch
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp garlic clove, minced
- 1 each bay leaf
- 12 each red potatoes
It’s as simple as adding the ingredients and letting them simmer all day. Brown sugar, nutmeg and Dash™ Salt-Free Original Seasoning Blend season the pot roast as it slow cooks, making it tender and juicy just in time for dinner.
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, combine Dash™ Salt-Free Original Seasoning, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and pepper. Mix well.
- Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the entire surface of the roast.
- In a Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned roast and brown it on all sides. Drain any excess fat.
- Place the sliced onions over the browned roast, and arrange the potatoes around it.
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, wine vinegar, minced garlic, and bay leaves. Stir until well mixed, then pour the sauce over the roast and vegetables.
- Cover the Dutch oven with a tight-fitting lid and cook in the preheated oven for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the roast is tender.
Tips
- Chef’s Tip -For even more flavor and tenderness, marinate the roast in the seasoning mixture and a little olive oil for a few hours or overnight before cooking. This helps the spices penetrate deeper and enhances the overall taste of the roast.
