Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup red pepper, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup tomato, diced
  • 15 oz can black beans, drained
  • 2 tbsp Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend
  • 1 cup instant long-grain rice
  • 1 cup chicken broth

A hearty side to add to your favorite Mexican main course. Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend and chicken broth add tasty flavor to this rice sensation.

Directions

  1. Heat pan over med-high heat with butter followed by onion, bell pepper and tomato. Cook until tender, about 8 minutes, stirring often.
  2. Add beans and mash lightly followed by Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning , rice and chicken broth. Combine well.
  3. Bring to boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook 6 to 8 minutes or until rice is tender.
  4. Stir again and serve hot.

Tips

  • Chef’s Tip - For an even healthier option, use whole grain or brown rice and follow the package instructions carefully.
