  1. Preheat barbecue grill to 450 degrees.
  2. Remove giblets and fat from inside the chicken.
  3. Wash chicken and pat it dry with paper towel.
  4. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of seasoning inside body cavity of chicken.
  5. Rub outside of chicken with olive oil, then rub remaining 2 tablespoons of seasoning all over outside of chicken.
  6. Open can of beer and pour out half into a frosty mug.
  7. Holding the chicken upright with the opening of the body cavity down, set the chicken down onto the half-full beer can.
  8. Place chicken in preheated barbecue grill on indirect heat.
  9. Place the legs of the chicken off to the sides to form a “tripod” to help support the body of the chicken on top of the can.
  10. Close barbecue lid and roast for approximately 90 minutes or until the meat reaches 170 degrees in breast and 180 degrees in thigh.
  11. Let stand 5 minutes before carving.
