Sautéed Onion Burgers Recipe
- Celebrate the beginning of summer by turning plain burgers into something special. Dash™ Hamburger Grilling Blend adds robust flavor to ground sirloin, then the burger is topped with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp egg substitute
- 4 tbsp Hamburger Grilling Blend
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 lb ground sirloin
- 2 oz reduced-fat cheddar cheese, cut into 4 equal slices
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 thinly sliced medium onion
Directions
- Combine ground sirloin, 3 tablespoons Hamburger Grilling Blend and egg substitute in a medium bowl.
- Shape meat mixture into eight 4-inch round, flat patties.
- Place a piece of cheese on top of each hamburger patty, top with a second patty and press down firmly, sealing the sides by pinching together.
- Heat olive oil in a medium skillet and add onion, remaining Hamburger Grilling Blend and balsamic vinegar.
- Sauté onions on low heat until soft and browned.
- Meanwhile, place burgers under preheated broiler or grill and brown patties on both sides until juices run clear, about 3 minutes per side.
- Top burgers with onions and place in bun to serve.
