- 1/2 cup turkey broth low sodium

- 2 tbsp garlic clove, minced
- 3 tbsp shallots, minced
- 2 tbsp Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend
- 3 cups bread, cut ½ inch cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
A great alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving turkey, especially if you are only cooking for a few people. Stuffed with Italian sausage, onion, scallions and garlic. Simply seasoned with Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend for a scrumptious meal.
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F.
- Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the turkey breast down the middle to butterfly it open, ensuring not to cut all the way through. Lay it flat, skin-side down, on a large piece of plastic wrap.
- In a bowl, combine the bread cubes, ground Italian sausage, broth, egg, minced garlic, shallots, and 1 tablespoon of Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend. Toss thoroughly until well mixed.
- Spread the stuffing mixture evenly over the butterflied turkey breast. Using the plastic wrap to assist, carefully roll the turkey breast into a roast shape. Remove the plastic wrap, tie the roast with kitchen string to secure it, and season the outside with 1 tablespoon of Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add the turkey roast and brown it on all sides.Transfer the browned turkey roast to a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Place it in the oven and roast for about 35 minutes, turning halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 140-145°F.
- Remove the turkey from the oven, sprinkle with the remaining Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend, and cover loosely with foil. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice the roast and serve with your favorite vegetables.
Tips
- Chef’s Tip - For a juicier roast, baste the turkey with a little extra broth or olive oil with additional Dash™ Garlic & Herb Seasoning halfway through cooking. This helps keep the meat moist and enhances the flavor of the stuffing.
