- Looking for a recipe that's perfect to warm you up on those chilly winter nights? This turkey lasagna dish is a healthy alternative to traditional hamburger lasagna. And it takes less than an hour to make.
- Cook Time: 45 Minutes
- Yield: 3
Ingredients
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp Original Blend
- 1 lb ground turkey breast
- 1/2 cup diced yellow or white onion
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic and cook 2 minutes, until soft.
- Add turkey and cook 5 minutes, until cooked through, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
- Add 2 tablespoons of Original Blend and stir to coat.
- Add tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, egg and remaining tablespoon of Original Blend.
- Mix well and set aside.
- Spoon about 1 cup of the meat sauce into the bottom of a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking dish, covering bottom of pan.
- Top sauce with three lasagna noodles (make sure noodles don’t touch each other or sides of pan since they will expand when baked).
- Top noodles with about 2/3 cup of the ricotta mixture and spread mixture out evenly over noodles.
- Top with meat sauce.
- Sprinkle with 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat these steps two more times (noodles, ricotta mixture, sauce, mozzarella), ending with noodles on top.
- Pour remaining sauce over top and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 10 to 15 more minutes, until hot and bubbly.
- Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
