Mashed Yellow Turnips With Crispy Onions Recipe
Destined to be a holiday hit. This turnip dish is smooth and creamy with a hint of lemon, thanks to Dash™ Lemon Pepper Seasoning Blend.

Ingredients
- 2 peeled, cubed turnips
- 8 oz can French fried onion rings
- 1 tsp salt (optional)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Pepper Seasoning Blend
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup milk
Directions
- Peel turnips and cut into 1-inch chunks.
- Place them in a saucepan with water and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until turnips are tender.
- In a separate saucepan, heat milk and melt butter together until milk starts to simmer.
- Drain turnips and mash (this can be done in a food processor); add milk and butter slowly.
- The turnips should be very smooth.
- Season with Lemon Pepper Seasoning Blend.
- Place in a casserole dish. When ready to serve, sprinkle generously with onion rings and reheat.
