Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Lean ground beef and on-hand pantry staples are all you need to make this meaty appetizer. Dash™ Hamburger Grilling Blend adds flavor and spice to these bite-size meatballs without any salt.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup egg substitute
- 5 tbsp Hamburger Grilling Blend
- 2 12-oz. jars chili sauce
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 1/2 lb 90% lean ground beef
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs
- 18 oz jar grape jelly
Directions
- Combine ground beef, 4 tablespoons Hamburger Grilling Blend, egg substitute and breadcrumbs in a large bowl.
- Roll beef mixture into bite-size (2-oz.) balls.
- Set aside.
- Combine chili sauce, 1 tablespoon Hamburger Grilling Blend, grape jelly, lemon juice and onions in a large, heavy saucepan.
- Bring sauce to a boil; drop in meatballs and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Cover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Pour meatballs with sauce into a slow cooker and serve with toothpicks.
