Brown Rice and Barley Recipe
Healthy brown rice paired with barley, onion, garlic and Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend creates a rich, zesty side dish that goes well with the Dash™ Fish Fillet recipe.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pearl barley
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 1/2 tbsp Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cup uncooked brown rice
- 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lime juice
Directions
- Cook the brown rice and barley in water for 40 minutes, according to package directions.
- Heat olive oil in small skillet. Add onion and garlic and sauté until tender.
- Combine brown rice and barley, onion mixture, lime juice, Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend, dried cranberries and butter.
- Serve warm.
