- ½ lb. pork sausage
- 1 each corn bread mix, 8.5 oz. pkg.
- 1 each Egg
- 1/3 cup Milk
- 1 tsp. Dash™ Onion and Herb Seasoning Blend
Savory sausage with the rich flavors of Dash™ Onion & Herb Seasoning adds a delicious mix of onion, garlic, and herbs to the moist cornbread, making it a flavorful and hearty dish perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side.
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare a 8x8 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.Cook sausage in a skillet until browned, drain and allow to cool while mixing corn bread batter
- In a bowl combine the corn bread mix, egg, milk, Dash™ Onion and Herb Seasoning and cooked sausage. Careful not to over mix it will have some lumps
- Pour into an 8-inch round cake pan and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cut and serve warm.
Tips
- Chef’s Tip - Enhancing cornbread by adding a mix of ingredients like shredded cheese, diced jalapeños, or corn kernels for extra flavor and texture. Also, swapping milk for buttermilk can make the cornbread extra moist and tender.
